Get Started Series 2 - Boldin's Top Menu

Hi everyone, this is Nancy from Bolden, and I want to welcome you to Day two of our Get Started series, designed to guide you in accurately setting up your plan. In today's video, I'll discuss Bolden's top menu. The Scenario toggle allows you to easily identify which scenario you're viewing, as well as view your other scenarios and navigate to the Scenario Manager. Next to this, you'll find the Forecast toggle. This allows you to control two important rate assumptions and today's future dollars. The Optimistic, Average and Pessimistic Forecast toggle allows you to view your plan under different sets of assumptions for inflation and returns. This unique feature enables you to explore and plan for different environments, such as high inflation and low returns. In order to ensure that you're creating the most resilient plan possible, we'll discuss the inflation and return assumptions in a future video. We generally suggest viewing your plan through an average forecast and using the optimistic and pessimistic forecasts to consider what might happen under better or worse circumstances. The second important forecast option is the Today's and Future Dollars forecast. Although we typically view financial projections in future dollars, projected figures may appear much larger than they will actually be in 20 or 30 years. When viewing your plan using the Today's Dollars assumption, we apply a present value calculation to the projections, so looking at today's dollars can make the information more digestible and easier for you to understand. The last top menu item controls the retirement age, withdrawal strategy and budget or scenario. This allows you to easily compare your plan metrics under a variety of different settings without creating an entire new scenario. Thank you for joining me in today's video.
