This is a YouTube travel vlog titled "We Saved A Puppy - Island Routes Bamboo Raft Trip in St Lucia" (posted March 24, 2025). A single narrator recounts a morning bamboo-rafting excursion (mentions a ~$160 price through Island Roots) with friend Cheryl and their guide "Captain Larry," describing the relaxed 2-mile river trip, wildlife sightings, and a rescued puppy they name River (locals call her Max). The speaker gives trip details and tips (phone safety, morning vs. afternoon trips, raft logistics), describes the puppy's behavior and possible adoption/vet needs, and notes that links and booking info are included in the video and that viewers can leave comments or ask for travel help.

So I did the romantic bamboo rafting earlier today at 9 AM. Um, I think it's $160 through Island Roots, and we can book that for you. So there's some amazing moments on that tour. You get on this bamboo raft. I'll tell you, I'll give you a little bit of the spoiler, then you got to watch it. So you get on this raft made out of bamboo, and, uh, Larry Larry was our guide. My name is Captain Larry. Captain Larry. Captain Larry. Okay, we are going 2 miles down this river. Okay. Larry is looking for an international woman, if anybody, especially from New York or DC. I don't know why it's New York or DC, but that's, that's his, uh, requirements. So Larry was our guide, 2 people per raft. So, um, I went with Cheryl, who's my friend here, and we had a great time. So it's relaxing, you go down this river. We saw water chickens. Larry, he strives to catch one one day, but they're very evasive and elusive, so he hasn't caught one yet. But he's trying to devise a plan to actually catch and release a water chicken at some point, so that's one of his life goals. So anyways, on this raft it goes to this super romantic spot where everybody loses their phone in the water, so be very careful. And they tell everybody that, and then of course one person in our group did lose their phone, but they got it back. They were quick. Ah, so I saw this like beaver or something, like is that a river otter? Like in this wide part of the river way up in front. I'm like, what is that? I'm like, Larry, what is that up there? And he goes, that's a puppy. I'm like, that's a puppy? He's like, yeah. So that puppy swam for like 20 minutes. Like, he was way up, way in front of us. And then we got next to him on the raft, and I picked him up and put him in. And we named him River. That was the most adorable puppy. Come on, come on, come here. You come up. Come here, come on. Oh my God, he's adorable. Oh my gosh. Oh, hi buddy, you made it. So cute. Come here, you are so cute. You're gonna get us all wet. It's okay though. Oh my gosh, you were so sweet. Come see Cheryl. So sweet. Hi. Yeah, I know. Oh my God, yes, I know, I know. Did you swim all the way over? Yes. Oh, licking my legs. Yes, I know, I know. He's odd. You're so awesome. We really need some food. My kids and my wife are going to be so sad that I did not bring that puppy home. That puppy was the best sweetest. She was amazing. Like, she got on that raft and she snuggled up like within and licked and was like the sweetest little puppy ever. And then, oh God, to make it even worse, so then we took the puppy to the beach on the raft and she ran around and I put a coconut down that we opened up and she bit into the coconut and she took it with her and she started eating the coconut. And we put little water in part of a coconut. And then we're like, all right, we're gonna leave. So we all got on our rafts and we went 2 miles up the stream, up the river, 2 miles. A little, so they tie all, at the end they tie all the rafts together and they have a little powerboat that takes them up. And there she is. And you can see her on the beach looking for us. And I'm like, okay, I can't have eye contact. Can't look. Don't look at the puppy. And then, all right, sorry. I'm like, okay, good. I said goodbye. I'm okay. The puppy's there. And then I can see out of the corner of my eye, she's running along the edge of the beach. And I'm like, oh God, don't look. And she's following. And then we go through the jungle, right? And I see glimpses for 2 miles of her running through the jungle. I'm like, what is that rustling sound? She— then Larry's like, that's the puppy. I'm like, you're kidding me, right? And then we get almost all the way back to the dock where we started, and here she is swimming in the river back towards us. She gets back on the raft. I pick her up. She's there right at the bust. Oh my God, I was like, now I gotta— so it was awful because we had to leave her there. So she was adorable. So if you go on the river raft, uh, the romantic— there's two different raft trips you can take, um, there's a morning and an afternoon. Anyways, I'll put that in the description too, so I'll put links to how you can do it. Maybe you can see River. And you can— she likes crack— bring some food. She likes crackers. She likes coconut. She doesn't like bananas. So I am back home. I did not take River the puppy home with me. If you go to St. Lucia and you do the rafting, the river rafting trip, the bamboo raft trip, and you want to adopt the puppy, The puppy, the locals call the puppy Max, and it's a girl, and you will see her around that beach probably when you get there at the very end of the river trip. And then you can adopt and work it out through St. Lucia. I don't know, you have to probably look on the internet and figure it out. But if anybody adopts Max or River, let me know. Leave a comment. Um, although, you know, we were like, oh man, we have to take her back. I mean, she loves it there. I mean, come on, the lifestyle is amazing. Maybe she just needs to go see a vet. So if you could take her to see a vet, get her cleaned up, and then let her live there. I don't know. But anyways, had a great time. If you need help with a vacation or excursions or anything, happy to help. Uh, leave a comment on the video, and there's links in there too of the deals and everything I did, so you can do the same trip. Have a great time, have a great vacation.
