A leadership discussion on guiding teams rather than directing them. The speakers argue that guidance improves performance and company outcomes, and explore why many leaders struggle with this approach.
Being in a room like this and, you know, maybe you have a C suite team that are, you know, you're there and some people are really eager to participate immediately. And other people are very, you know, well, see, you know, we've had people here before and nothing's changed. And some of them are like, not going to be involved at all. Right. So it's kind of like giving people that, that vision and also, you know, are they ready to kind of have that next step? You know, you don't want to tell people what to do. You want to guide them.
Guide. Don't assume there's so many guide, don't something. Guide, don't something. But as leaders.
To get to the point where, and this is.
Hard, I.
Don'T do it every day.
I sometimes still do not guide, and I do the other thing. But getting focused on guide not, guide not, you are so much better for your team. The team appreciates it better. They choose to perform better themselves. They get more.
Value out of it.
The team gets.
More value out of it.
The company gets more.
Value out of it.
You as the leader, get.
More value out of it. But it's hard to do every day.
