This is a YouTube video titled "Guiding vs Driving Leadership #leadership #shorts" containing a monologue by Eli Schwartz explaining the difference between guiding and driving leadership styles, emphasizing motivation, empowerment, and employee ownership in project management. The content was created in November 2024.
What is guide versus Drive? Let me put that in an everyday scenario. Let's say an unexpected project comes in with a very tight deadline. There are two ways to approach it. There is the driving scenario, which is the boss comes in and says, here's a project, here's how I want you to do it. No buy in becomes a checklist. Then there is the guiding scenario, which is explaining the bigger picture of it, asking how individuals can feel that they can contribute through their strengths. That scenario causes ownership employees that feel valued. So then it becomes a project that matters. The LLI approach of guide versus Drive and leadership is helping others find their motivation and creating teams that are empowered and engaged.
