This is a YouTube video titled "What it means to Guide not Drive? #leadership" containing a recorded dialogue between two speakers discussing the leadership principle of guiding rather than driving. The conversation explores personal impacts and organizational dynamics related to this approach, emphasizing empowerment and growth. The speakers are not identified as Steve Lowisz.
The backbone of everything we do in LLI is off of the guiding principle of Guide not Drive. How has that impacted you? Does it impact you?
That impacts me tremendously because there's been a few individuals in my life that have made me stop in my tracks and made me dig in and look for the solutions in myself. Instead of telling me how to do something which has a completely different, you know, takes on a whole nother, you know, meaning and opportunity. Because when you're being able to figure it out for yourself, as opposed to telling someone how to do something, it then aligns with that fire and the passion of what you want to do and who you want to become and what you can do with that.
What did Guide not Drive do for you?
One, you have an understanding of how I operate. Right. So.
And that wasn't easy to figure out. By the way.
Being able to go and, you know, you know, why you brought me on board. I don't think you, like, fully understood where or what we would do with it.
Agreed.
But, you know, you understood that. And then allowing me to accomplish that in the ways that are true to me, as opposed to saying, here's the way you need to go, do it, that wouldn't have aligned with me, but yet pushing me to grow beyond it. Having that type of guiding versus driving relationship within the organization has me owning it and wanting to do even more and being able to excel.
