I would just say to the person that is pursuing their doctoral degree, do not give up along the way. You've heard my whole story. You've heard the challenges that we went through. I know it seems crazy to say that, but challenges, the pain you go through, the obstacles that you face, they're all a culmination of events to produce the character that you need to sustain where you're going.
