A student describes the frustration of vague, shifting feedback that nearly made them quit. Dr. Steve Tippins intervened, explained their right to request a different chair, and taught them how to advocate for themselves.
Before finding him, it was horrible. The feedback was completely unclear. It kept changing. I was so frustrated. I was ready to give up, actually. Getting out of that and getting with somebody who can kind of speak the language already, it was really helpful because I realized that, no, I do have rights as a student. I can get another chair. And so Dr. Tippins was really good at helping me navigate that process. He helped me be able to use the language.
