Steve Tippins Ph.D. tells Ph.D. candidates what deans actually care about in academic interviews: ask about the college's five-year vision, expansion plans, and biggest challenges. Their answers reveal where the institution is really headed.
typically when you get all done or somewhere in the day, you're going to meet with the dean or the associate dean, and they're gonna talk to you about bigger pictures where you're gonna get to ask questions like, "Where do you see the college going in the next 5 years?" "Are there major plans for expansion?" or "What do you think are the biggest challenges your school faces?" And you're gonna get answers from a totally different perspective. The Scholar Career Network exists specifically to support Ph.D.s through moments like this. And help them find meaningful careers.
