Steve Tippins Ph.D. walks through how to build a dissertation outline that actually works: start each heading with a summary, use placeholders for citations, and verify all references are there. He also describes the free Dissertation Help Community, which offers mentorship from committee members and a five-step framework for finishing.

I've seen people take their outline and their headings and just start by writing short summaries and then fill in around that even more. I've also seen people leave placeholders for adding future information, but also for references. That's the one thing you want to make sure you've gone back through and looked at your references to make sure they're all there. Ultimately, what I want to say is a clear outline gives you the path to graduation, and that's what we want. If you want help with your dissertation outline, join our free Dissertation Help Community. You'll get our five Step Dissertation Acceptance Framework, real support from veteran dissertation committee members, access to our free community, and a free one on one call to help you finish faster. I'll see you inside.
