After your campus interview for an academic job, send a thank-you email that restates your interest and asks about next steps and timeline. The Scholar Career Network helps Ph.D. graduates navigate the hiring process.
Finally, when you get all done with either an intro interview and/or a campus interview, send a follow-up email. Thank you for taking the time to meet with me. I'm excited about this opportunity and look forward to hearing from you. One of the questions you can be asking is, what is the process? What is the time frame for you to move forward? And ultimately, I wish you luck in this process and hope you find the ideal position for you. The Scholar Career Network exists specifically to support Ph.D.s through moments like this and help them find meaningful careers.
