The purpose is, I want to go after the problem. I'm going to need some research questions in there because they want to know what you're going to do and they want to know your methodology. It's going to be a qualitative study and it's going to be a case study. Or it's going to be a quantitative study and I'm going to use analysis of variance. And they have to line up with your research questions. In some institutions, they like to see a timeline. This timeline is, at this point, a really good guesstimate because there's so many things out of your control at this point. But you want to show them a reasonable time period. And then your references that you're going to use. Now, one thing you want to be aware of is there's a lot of institutions now that are using— not a rule, but they'd like to see a large percentage of your references in the last 5 years.
