A Ph.D. candidate's on-campus interview visit runs two exhausting days. One interviewer moved a meeting to a coffee shop because campus rules blocked an on-site meeting. Rest before you go, and use the Scholar Career Network to navigate the logistics.
I found that out once interviewing for a job that I eventually took. I was in the town nearby that the school was, and I said, oh, I'll just come to your office. And they said, oh no, we'll meet you at the local coffee shop because they couldn't do it on campus because of the rules. So if you're brought on campus, first think this is pretty much going to be 2 days. Typically it's 2 days that are going to be long days, very long days. So rest beforehand. The Scholar Career Network exists specifically to support Ph.D.s through moments like this and help them find meaningful careers.
