Recently I've been working with someone whose chair has said, "Okay, but no one has ever done fewer than this number of pages and gotten through." So we have some other criteria in looking at the number of pages. And when I tell you a number of pages, remember it may not all be written. There could be graphs or tables, references, and things like that. Remember, typically pages are double-spaced. Most people follow a manual of style, whether that's APA or Chicago, Turabian, or some other —form of style, but your font size and your spacing are going to be based on that, but also your university guidelines.
