My name is Adrian Daniel. I'm from Brooklyn, New York. So music started for me when I was 6 years old. My godfather was Lionel Hampton, the great jazz musician, and he used to have us come over at his house and play the xylophone, and he would teach us how to play that, and I used to hate it. I used to— I couldn't stand it. I remember I told my mom, I said, I never want to do music. You know, eventually my brother convinced me to give music a try. So it was a long process, but I remember it was 2014 when I actually was good at music. And I hope you guys are having a good time watching this so far. Growing up, you know, where I grew up, you had to just kind of just figure it out on your own, and so having a program where people can just kind of be mentored and kind of be, like, helped through that process of being a creative, This is so important for so many kids out here today that have ideas, that just want to express them, and they don't think no one understands. And so, a lot of kids from neighborhoods like mine, they just get overlooked. So I think ArtStart is doing just something that is really, really necessary right now.
