The team reviews three redesigns for Peter Pan Donuts, a New York diner institution. They settle on the third option but agree the donut graphic needs to look more real and less generic. Larger, simpler typography wins out over fussy details.

Here's the gallery. I love that.
No, that I don't like at all. All right.
It's renewal. We renew websites. We call it renewal.
Ah, I'm mortal. I just realized, be careful, I curse in Greek sometimes. There's 4 of us in my family: my father, my mother, me, my brother. It's like 4 Type A strong personalities. My mother's always worried that we look like we're crazy on the outside. One second, Peter. Freddy needs the cakes. We're always arguing over something, we're always fighting through it. The design of Peter Pan is from my mother and father's experience over years working in diner donut shops in New York. Tell Peter to shut up. The internet is not exactly, like, in line with who Peter Pan is. We're traditional, we're old school. The website has to be almost as simple as possible. People are just trying to get a donut and breakfast here.
Time to renew website. The first time that we talked, you wanted to maintain the sense of the Peter Pan brand, So we have 3 different options. Here's option 1.
Okay. It's a color I would've used in the '80s and '90s.
Not fond of the burgundy? Awesome. No.
She's supposed to have a hat on.
Oh, come on.
You really need bigger print in block letters.
Understood. So this is direction 2.
That I don't like at all.
I like the logo being there.
Who is this guy?
He's a customer. He comes here every day.
Oh, I don't like your pictures at all, Dimitri.
Okay, keep going.
Our third direction.
Uh-oh. I like everything but the donut. The donut's not ours. We're gonna put our donut.
It looks like a pool tube, a pool ornament. Even if it was our donut, you wouldn't like it?
It's in your face and it doesn't look like a real donut.
You're hard to please.
You told me to be honest. No, no, I'm kidding. We've just been through a lot, but yeah, that's the 3 websites that we have for Peter Pan.
Okay.
So you have to pick one. Do you want to see the first one again?
No.
I like the way 2 looks.
Number 3.
Number 3.
Mm-hmm.
And we'll swap out that doughnut.
Yeah. They're really actually all good. They're really good. This is more us. You say it. You're better at speaking. Say thank you at the end.
Please visit peterpandonuts.com. Thank you. All right, now, Jane, you're gonna do it.
Okay. Just that doughnut. Okay, we'll talk about that later.
