Jeff Koons talks about how his childhood, from drawing with crayons to building with popsicle sticks, shaped his website design. He credits collaborations with art historians and early encounters with artworks as visible influences on the site's visual and conceptual choices.
You know, when I think about the inspiration for the website, I really have to look at my whole life history. I can think of myself as a child making things with crayons and gluing together popsicle sticks. I can think of art historians that I worked with. I can think of artworks that I experienced, seeing different artists for the first time. When I look at the website, I can see all the different inspirations.
