We leave digital traces everywhere, creating an accidental avatar of ourselves online. AR and VR offer blank canvases to deliberately experiment with who we want to become, rather than being reconstructed from data we didn't know we were giving away.

I want to have this, like, weird Sohee avatar that is also living in this digital space with me doing something completely in parallel. We have aggregated all this information online and we have created this digital self without even knowing it. I do think that we're not consciously aware of the digital person you're creating. And at some point, like if you were to pass away and we were to collect all that digital data and create a human, would that be something that you were satisfied with? Wanting to put a face to that character we've created over time, I think, is a very interesting concept. What I love about the digital space or AR and VR is that it's a blank canvas. And so if we want to imagine the future, it's a great way for us to play. I think 2020 has been really hard. It's isolating, it's confusing. You spend a lot of time reflecting on what your life was, but we did all of that so that now we have the confidence to know what to do next, and I think that's extremely powerful. And I'm just really excited to take that breath of fresh air and spend time developing who I want to be in this artistic realm.
