Designer argues UI buttons should ditch the default square-with-shadow look for bolder, organic shapes that still read as clickable. Also: there's no ginger-skin face-palm emoji, and that's a problem worth fixing.

I'm down with the organic shapes, man. I think, like, all those years people are like, people won't know it's a button unless it's a square with a drop shadow that says click here. You know, I think you can make that a little more organic shape. People understand the internet. People understand a lot of where you're trying to go. So I think you can be bold with some of that stuff. You don't have to follow all of the rules. You know what? I think it's basic AF that there's no ginger emojis. There's only the one that's like the girl just with the bob haircut for all ethnicities, but like the facepalm one, that's all I want is a ginger facepalming because that is all I want to use ever. And because I've never gotten to use it, I think it's basic. But if they made it, then I might be back on emojis. Thank you.
