In this short documentary, several Magnum photographers—including Olivia Rathbun, Jakob Aasjåborn, Sabiha Çimen, Bruce Gilden, William Keough, and Steve McCurry—explore the idea that photography functions as a language for expressing viewpoints about the world. The central project highlighted is a collaborative experiment in which the photographers share a single roll of film, forcing each to craft a meaningful story within just six frames. Participants discuss the pressure of making every shot count, the intimate experience of portraiture that reveals unseen perspectives, and the desire to challenge stereotypical expectations placed on Muslim women in visual representation. The conversation also touches on the significance of photographing one’s own community as a personal narrative, and the necessity of making work accessible through websites and online platforms, given that not everyone can view books or attend exhibitions. Throughout, the speakers emphasize authenticity, the responsibility of the photographer, and the value of sharing work publicly.
