I'm Claire Mazur. I'm the co-founder of Of A Kind. We work with emerging fashion designers, and we commission them to do limited edition pieces that are exclusive to the site. A lot of times I'll go into boutiques. I will just comb through the racks and sort of pick up pieces. When I find a designer I like, I will jot it down in my phone and send it to my email just as a note to go back and look up later. When I get back to my desk, I have a list of designers whose work I like. We might write about a designer on the blog, find out it got a great reaction and tons of traffic, and say maybe this is someone we should be working with. My life as an entrepreneur and as the founder of my own business is very busy. When I am constantly mentally churning through all the things that I need to do, then I'm not productive at all. So I try very hard when I have a thought, I use the Note app to get it down no matter where I am. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
