We're the Shocks, and this is Uncovered.
Strange boy, you make no sense. And when you talk, the room gets tense. Strange boy, you drink your fill. You only like me 'cause I'm new. I like you anyway.
I like you anyway.
You're gonna be famous one day, you'll see. Hey, you're Sue's change boy. Yeah, you're Sue's change boy. Yeah, you're Sue's change boy. Yeah, you're so strange. Strange, but I tuck you up. I'll drink the Kool-Aid from your cup. Strange, but you've made your bed. Now go to sleep and rest your head. I like you anyway. I like you anyway. You're gonna be famous one day, you'll see.
Yeah.
You'll soon change, boy.
Yeah.
You're so strange, boy.
Yeah.
You're so strange, boy.
Yeah.
You're so strange.
You're so strange.
By yourself, strange. By yourself, strange. By yourself, strange.
So we're The Shacks. Max and Ben met in high school in New Jersey, and then Max, like, randomly came to my school in New York because I grew up here. And then, yeah, we met and just started, like, writing songs together, and we all started getting along really well. So I would say, yeah, we make kind of, like, dreamy kind of music. I would say we're kind of like a pop-rock band. We're definitely like inspired by super old stuff, but um, but yeah, I guess it's just kind of like our take on it. This next song is called Follow Me.
Ah yes, ah makes me glad.
I hope you'll follow me. I hope you'll follow me.
Way up on that hill, it all looks so blue. The dream made me think.
It's open for you. So I'll be your friend till I die. I'll follow you if you follow me. But before you love me. I'll follow you. I hope you'll fall in love with me. I hope you'll fall for me. Didi didi didi di. Didi didi didi di. Didi didi didi di. I've before loved me. I've before loved me.
We're so glad to be playing. Like, we haven't played a show in so many months, and it feels so crazy to be, like, playing a show again. It's really, like, awesome to have, like, a platform for like kind of bands like us who still want to play shows and get out there but like kind of have no way of doing so otherwise right now. So it's really cool to be here. Yeah, I mean, it would definitely be awesome to play Madison Square Garden one day. That would be like the craziest thing ever. All right, this next one's called Crying.
Walk away.
I used to pray that you would never die. I used to say.
You're living too high, but I'll move now.
See you crying, now see you crying, and it hurts so bad. To see you walk away. And it hurts so bad to see you walk away.
So I think I feel like we picked kind of some of our like classic. songs. Like, we played Crying, which is a song that Max wrote. Strange Boy was the first song we ever recorded as a band, and then Follow Me was kind of like around the same time too, as well as No Surprise. These days, like, it's really— it's so much easier, I feel like, for people to create things and like put them out into the world, like art or music or anything. But yeah, it can be a little tricky sometimes, like, kind of figuring out how to— How to get it out there. Like, when's the best time to put something out or how to promote it. But yeah, I mean, I think it's also really cool that we live in a time that it's really easy for people to share their music and art with each other. Thank you so much, guys. We're The Shacks, and our last song is called No Surprise.
Something wrong with your pain. You look around for someone to blame. Now you're the one with tears in your eyes. You let your feelings rest.
It's no surprise. It's no surprise.
It's no surprise.
It's no surprise.
It's no surprise.
The falling rain sounds a bit apart. Just like Smokey said, it's no surprise.
It's no surprise.
It's no surprise.
It's no surprise. It's no surprise. It's no surprise.
It's no surprise.
It's no surprise.
It's no surprise.
