Short motivational monologue (YouTube) by Nate Auffort in which the speaker recounts waking up after poor sleep ("maybe three, four hours") and dealing with a torn pectoral muscle that flared up. He describes low motivation to attend multiple calls/appointments and avoid work tasks, then frames this as carrying a "bag of excuses" and urges listeners (and himself) to discard excuses and push through to be productive. The piece contrasts momentary feelings with long-term success, presenting discipline over mood as the key differentiator.

So it's 9:30 in the morning. I just drugged myself out of bed. Didn't sleep that well last night. Got maybe three, four hours of sleep. Not because I went to bed late, just because I have a torn pectoral muscle in my arm. Started to get better and was acting up really bad last night. So I spent, I don't know, a couple hours just soaking in a hot tub last night. And I got this morning, and my mindset is I just want to go back to bed. I want to grab a bag of ice and an eating pad. I don't want to get on my three or four conference calls that I do in a row today. I don't want to get on my four appointments I need to do. I don't want to make outbound dials for leads that I'm testing out for Iuls. I don't want to do any of it. And I was sitting here being reminded of what I teach all the people I work with, which is what I say all the time, is, how big is your bag? How big is the bag of excuses you're carrying around with you? And I'm telling that to myself today, going, hey, you know what a lot of people think? You wake up in the morning and your mindset's like, I'm ready to go. I'm ready to conquer the day. It's not always like that. Sometimes you wake up and you're just like, man, I wanted to get rid of this day. And you got to go out, figure out, how do I overcome my mindset as a human that says, I don't want to do the things I had to do today? And I really, truly believe that's the difference between people who are successful and people who aren't. It's, are you willing to overcome the way that you feel to do the things that you need to do that you may not want to do to continue to have success in your life that average people want. So we're gonna go crush this day. We're gonna go kill this day. So if you don't feel like doing something today, just get over it, take the bag of excuses, throw it out, and just go do it.
