So Nate is running an unbelievable insurance agency out of Dallas. He has agents in several states. I want to give him a little intro, though, for those that don't know Nate by show of hands or in chat. Who knows Nate or who's at least been around him or seen him or. Okay, who does not. Okay. Who does not. Okay. You don't know Nate. You never heard of him. You don't know who this guy is. You know, you don't know what you think of him yet. You hope you like him. You don't know if you're going to, but we'll see. Okay, good. Nate wrote $85,000 in insurance in his first six weeks. Okay, hang on. Nate, don't butt in, okay? I know you don't want to brag on yourself, but we're doing it. Okay? Also, he recruited 69 people in his first 60 days. Okay? So most of you think, I don't have time. I can't sell. I can't recruit. He didn't even have an insurance. He did not have an insurance license before he joined. Obviously, he had one when he joined, because you got to have one of those. However, he did not have any insurance experience, period. He had business experience. He had life insurance experience. He had sales experience. And then, boom. Crushes $85,000 in premium in six weeks. Okay. And recruited 69 people in 60 days. Do you think the dude knows something about selling or recruiting? Right. Just a little bit. Okay. We've known each other for, like, three years now. He's been speaking at every 8%. Good. One of my best friends in the industry. He does something. He has an unbelievable conference called the SWAT Workshop. This last one is called the Millionaire Workshop. He's got a lot of amazing things going on. I'm excited for him to train and help and bring the energy today and help all of you. If you don't want to leave making more sales, buying more leads, recruiting more people, or selling more insurance, then you should get off the call right now. Okay? Guaranteed. You should not stay if you did not intend on doing any of that today. Okay, Nate, you mean keep going, bro? Or you want us to jump in?
I want you to stop, like, 10 minutes ago. Isla. She threw me under the bus. He said he didn't even know what DL meant on his first in person app. Actually, she got. He or she. Is that a girl? Hey, first of all, if you. If I told you you're gonna make $100,000 more a year this year, but you have to turn your video camera on. How Many would do it. Let's see. Oh, some of you guys, your camera's already on the purpose of a zoom. Might as well do a conference call. Oh, there you go. Thank you, Robert. Thank you, D. Golden man. Look at that. Look at all the face. I love seeing faces. There you go. Yeah, my camera's up here, but you guys are all down here. So if you, like, see me looking down, I'm looking at you individually. I'm not reading any notes because I don't really have any notes to read, but I know I need to figure out how to put my camera down here. Facing upwards, I guess. But yeah, yeah, I mean, it's. I didn't. I didn't know I could tell that. Quick story real quick. Yeah, I had. I had zero experience in the insurance industry. And I remember that, you know, I was taught by somebody who was extremely successful. And in my mid-20s, I met somebody. I went broke for years in sales and, you know, watched people have success around me. Which is probably one of the most frustrating things in the world, isn't it, Lori? Where you have. People are making 10, 20, 30 grand a month and you're like, dude, I'm living on an air mattress. I just got my car repoed. Like, what is wrong with me? And I did that for three or four years in the sales industry fresh out of college. I didn't graduate college, and it wasn't until my mid-20s that I had a gentleman come to my life. And it was back in the 90s. So he made a million dollars a week, net. Net, right. That was after he had his 102. I used to say 52. I found out Cody was 102. Exotic car collection. Seven Lamborghinis, nine Ferraris. He had 122 boats and a $20 million mega yacht. Ten estates across the country. Some of you guys at the last SWAT training got to hear from him. So it's no shock and wonder with his presence and who he is and how he's able to accomplish that. But he created a company with starting with five people and took it to 1.8 million people in five years. Was on the front cover of Inc. Magazine with Bill Gates, the owner of Timberland Shoes. Tom Monahan, the owner of Domino's Pizza, he created a company that grew 35,000% growth in five years. Before the Internet. Like, when I was there, like my fourth year, they just came out with the pager. Like, we were so excited about pagers. I know. Don't laugh. Some of you guys are so Young. I don't know what pager is. It's like when you had those cell phones, you had to stop your car and, like, plug it into your car to make a call. Like a car battery. That, like, he had one of the first cell phones. Like that. I mean, like, insanity. I mean, with social media now, hey, we have an event. Everyone come. I mean, like, it was. There was no social media. There was no Internet. We were working in offices. So he came to my life and he transformed. I'm going to give a story really, really short because it's not about me. It's about you. What can I do to help any of you guys here? And again, I can't be the answer to everything. But I do have some strengths and some. I'm very good in a very few things, and I suck at a lot of things. I had to become comfortable with that. I suck at a lot of things, but I got really good at a few things. So if I can really help you with the good things, the few things I got good at, then you can find other people to come into your life. That's what's so awesome about this Rising star thing that are great at the things I suck at. And that's the one key thing I had to realize. I don't think you're good at everything. I just got good at what I'm good at and then hire people around me to do the things I suck at. And it took me a long time to figure it out. But, I mean, imagine I was making Cody three grand in a month. Was the most I ever made in sales. After four years of being going to trainings and getting in groups like this and everything else, this guy comes into my life and making a million dollars. We get a gold watch that cost more than my first house cost on his arm. And I know it's different now. I know it's not cool to show off your wealth. And you're supposed to make a million dollars. If you make a million dollars now a year, you're supposed to give it all away and drive a Prius. I know things are different. However, back then, it was cool to have a lot of money and show it off, right? And it wasn't necessarily about the money. But I grew up like most people heard. It's like I got so sick and tired. Money's not everything. Money's not everything. Money doesn't grow on trees. I'm like, really? Mom, dad, I was out here raking leaves for the last two hours, and I didn't Find any hundred dollar bills? No shit. Money doesn't grow on trees, you're right. But they never told me where it grew. So I meet this guy and he goes, I bet you grew up here, money doesn't grow on trees, didn't you? And I go, yeah, I heard it all the time. He goes, I bet they ever told you where it did grow, did they? Well, no they didn't. He goes, it grows in other people's pockets. I was like, holy cow, it does. And if you give them, if you take their money without giving them something of value, they call that stealing. They put you in jail, you go to prison. But if you give them a product or service in return for their money, they call that capitalism. Now as dumb as that sounds, it was the first time in my life, in my mid-20s anyone ever told me where money grew. And he took me with the same company, the same product, the same comp plan for making three grand a month to over 20 grand a month in less than 90 days. Nothing changed. Still no cars, still living on an air mattress with eight people in an apartment. And I was a millionaire in less than a year and a half. So when I started the insurance industry, understand I cheated because I learned the skills necessary A how to build a group and B how to communicate to people in the way that they want to be communicated to in the language, so to speak, that they speak. So I can, they don't confuse the messenger. A lot of times we mess up our sales because of us, the messenger with the message. So they understand it, they get it and they most importantly implement it and take action, whether it be your product or an opportunity. So when I got involved in credit card processing, I made millions of dollars and create a seven figure income in that industry as well. But I was promised ownership, that kind of went south and I was starting over in the insurance industry. So I actually reached out to the people who are in my upline now, Matt and Brad Smith and I attempted to recruit them into something else and they kind of flipped the script on me and they said hey, you know, you should look at what we're doing. I said well what do you guys do? These guys ran multimillion dollar successful mattress company 2008 the market crashed, they almost lost it, had to go bankrupt. But all their capital was tied up with their family's home, mom and dad's homes was mortgage for their business. And I'd love for you guys to keep your videos on, it'd be awesome, so I can see it. And what happened Was they couldn't bankrupt because they would've bankrupted their whole entire family. So they got introduced to this business from a guy who was a truck driver, and he made, like, 10 grand a month. And I don't know how long you guys been in this business, but when I started, it was, you know, they wanted you to fax over your applications like a fat. I'm like, who has a fax machine? I'm like, we just were past the point where you had to press hard to go through all three copies. You guys know I'm talking about the carbon copy one. You know, I'm like, faxing. I have to drive to their house, like. So I said, what do you guys do? Is they go to mortgage protection. I go, what is that? It's like, well, it's life insurance for the home. I'm like, brad, Matt, man, is life that bad? Like, you're selling mortgage, you're selling insurance. That's how ignorant I was. I was an ignoramus. I had no clue that this industry created more millionaires than any other industry. I had no clue the amount of trillions of dollars of income that's out there. And so I said something really stupid, and they kind of forgave me for it. And they go, yeah. And I was like, well, listen, I don't want to do what you're doing. My ego was way out of whack back then, guys. I don't even recognize who I was eight years ago. But making millions of dollars in two different industries and having an incredible lifestyle, or as a bachelor at the time, my ego got a little bit out of whack. And I thought, well, hey, that's above me. Insurance is above or below me. Actually, I'm above insurance. Whatever.
Dumb.
So I started recruiting some people, and I said, listen, I know how this thing works. It's one of those pyramid deals, right, Where a guy on top makes the money and you get a bonus off the guy underneath you and everything else. I said, but I'm okay with it. That's a pyramid deal, right, Y'? All, Harmony heard that ignorant comment. Oh, this sounds like a pyramid. Yeah, dude, it's such a good one. You need to get a license to participate in it. That's how awesome this pyramid deal is. And it's federally regulated by the government, so. So we're good, right? So I'm like, I know I can get some people in. I sent them a bunch of people. They started getting involved in getting their license, and I thought that I could get paid on It. So I said, well, how am I going to get paid on this? I'm not the red Cross. And he said, well, it's a regulated industry. You need to get a license. Well, knowing that I do it well in school, I'm like, here we go. So what do I do? So I took licensed coach. I don't know if you guys have heard of licensed coach. Like, by week three, I wanted to. By day three, I wanted to punch coach Jenny right in the throat because I got so. It was so annoying, this thing. I was like, oh my gosh, what am I doing? And I passed my license in four days. And so, I mean, passed my insurance, whatever you call it, that little test thing. And then I got my license, okay? So I thought that was the end of it. I said, great, I'm licensed now. Position me above these people and I'll keep bringing you people because I know how to recruit, but I don't want to do it. And he goes, okay, no problem. And then he called me a week later, like, Cody. Cody called me up and he said, well, can you do some training for your guys? I go on what? Like, you know, success principles are universal. I'm building sales teams and selling. I'm like, I don't know about you and I'm not against anyone that does this, but I always got taught, if you can't do it, teach it. And if you can't teach it, write a book about it. So no offense to those people who actually do it, teach it and write a book because they're doing well. But I get so annoyed when people come on and try to teach me to do something I never did. I know I could be successful in real estate, but I'd never done it. So who am I to teach you how to increase your sales ratio in real estate if I'd never gone out and sold a house and put cookies in the oven. So I said, why? I'm not going to teach them to do something I never did. Brad. He goes, why don't you buy some leads and go out there and do it for like a month? Unless you think you can. Yeah, he got me type A personality. What do you mean I can't? I can do it. Well, come on, I can do this. He's like, why don't you just get some leads for a month? Do it for a month. Okay, great. What's your top guy doing now again? We have E applications, instant approvals, instant issues, next day pay. It wasn't like that back then, right? You had to actually Get. We have zoom meetings you can do. So back then, you know, 20, 25,000amonth on an $80 a month or a $60 a month final expense policy or an $80 a month mortgage policy was good to do 20 or 25 apps a month. I know about maybe your industry. It wasn't, but, like, that was the top. What the top people were doing in the company that I got involved with with about 20 or 25. I said, well, great. What script are they using? Like, I didn't. I got taught real early on this just to cheat, and not in a negative way, but, like, I'm like, wow, I can get wealthy cheating. Well, I just got to copy someone else who had success and just do what they do is say what they said, and I'll get what they got. Like, I learned that from day one. Like, quit trying to put chocolate sprinkles on the cupcake if you don't know how to follow the step 1, 2, 3, 4 in the back of a Betty Crocker box, right? Like, is that Betty Crocker? Is that right? One of the four steps to baking a cake or whatever. And so I took their script, I listened to their audios, and I went out and I figured, okay, I can earn why I learn. And I was taught by my mentor, this is huge for a lot of you. And it was huge for me. This is what changed my life. He goes, if I told you, in order to go out and make $10,000 a month, Nate, you got to go out and make 10,000 mistakes, how quickly would you make them.
Right?
So I told you to go and make $10,000. Before you could ever make 10 grand a month, you got to go out and make 10,000 mistakes. How fast would you make them? Now, isn't that opposite from what most of us were taught? See, it's hard to understand, because ever since we were a little kid, minus this and minus that, minus this and minus that, minus this, minus that, you think after 14,000 hours of going through kindergarten, through the 12th grade, not counting college, that every time we made a mistake, we got penalized for it? It didn't program our subconscious mind that mistakes are bad and mistakes are failure. And so I was like, I'm dumb enough to believe him. So I said, okay, great, I'll go out and make. So every opportunity I got involved with, I would go, how many mistakes can I make? Because that's how I'm going to learn. See, if I drive to someone's house and I forget to write their Social Security number, I write their driver's license, the Social Security spot. And then I had to go back and drive 45 minutes back to their house to get the paperwork. Resigned. Guess how many realize that's the last time that ever happened. Last time when I went to someone's house, I didn't take a copy of their avoided check of their driver's license, which was required when I started. And I submitted my app and they wouldn't approve it because I needed a copy of their driver's license and their and their check. Guess how many times I made that same mistake? Never. So I went out there without having really any idea except a phone script, a lead and an idea about what this product could do for them. And I was in my first home. This is getting to your story. Who was it that Ivy, who was it that threw me under the bus on this one? Anyway, so I went to my first house and I was trained. Hey, listen, you only know everything. You have an upline for support. If you're in a home and the play changes, so to speak, just pick up the phone and call your upline. Right? So I was sitting there with Martha and Bob will just call them to protect the innocent. And I'm getting ready to fill out the application. I sold a policy each my first sale. And I said, okay, so what's your address? And I'm writing all this stuff down and I get this one box and I didn't know what they wanted. Intuitive thing. I don't know how new you guys are or how long you've been doing this, but one of the things I was always taught is to always say, I've been doing this long enough to realize because you just establish credibility without telling them how long you've been doing. I've been doing it for three minutes. So I've been doing it long enough to realize that. And they never ask me. What if they ask you how long you've been doing it? I tell them I've been doing it long enough to realize that there's no one size fits all. I've been doing this long enough to realize that everyone has different needs and concerns and assume they go, oh wow, he's been around for a while. Subconscious in their brain. And so I look at this thing, I'm like, well, give me a minute. I'm going to call a good friend of mine. He's in an earning department. I have access to 35 carriers, 400 products, and they're constantly changing the applications. And this one's brand new to Me. Which it was. It was my first sit. Every application was brand new to me. I said, I don't think you want me coming out here and trying to get another signature and everything else like that. So let me just call a good friend of mine, the underwriting department, and find out what they wanted this at. So I picked up the phone, I called Brad. I know I'm talking fast. I want to get through, pass the story and talk about you guys. I call Brad and I go, hey, Brad, I'm sitting here with Martha and Bob and we just went through and they're going to do the mortgage protection deal for one for 120amonth, the other one for about $200 a month. I think I sold like 3500apd my first sip. Cody. It was so I got to part of the application. I just didn't understand what they wanted here. What was it that they wanted here? And he goes, well, what part? I go where it says DL and he should have. I thank God his phone was not loud because he starts laughing. He goes, oh, my God. He goes, dude, driver's license. I go, oh, yeah, it's exactly what I thought it was. I said, thanks for your help. I hang up the phone and I go, okay, so who do you want your beneficiary to be? So, like, I got the driver's license at the very end of that deal because I felt so stupid, because I was like, oh, my God, I don't even know what it is for the driver's license. So I wrote about 15 grand my first week, and I wrote about 85,000 in six weeks during this exact month eight years ago. I started in October of 2013. And everyone says the worst time to sell insurance, my mentor said, find out what everyone's doing. Do the exact opposite. And to me, it was the best time to sell insurance because people are thinking about family. They're around, they're home, family's on their mind. How many of you know people that are a lot more forgiving during, oh, Uncle Joe, you know, it's Christmas, let's forgive Uncle Joe for being a jerk and owing us money and just bring him over to the house. Like, everyone's in a different frame of mind and everybody in recruiting is looking for 20, 22 or 2014 at that point, for new year, new career. They spent an entire year. They're upset. They have more year left than they do with money. They're not where they want to be financially, health wise. They want to lose weight, everyone make more money. This year. Going to lose weight this year. I'm healthy this year. And I changed my circle of influence this year. So there's a lot more people that are looking to change. So I use that for my advantage. So while I was in licensing, I didn't wait to recruit. I had 30 other people I recruited and put into license licensing before I ever got my license. If you're like, well, what if they get ahead of you? Or I'm like, I didn't work. I didn't worry. Like, I didn't worry about all this stuff. It's like, get them in. Some are going to make it, some aren't. Some get ahead of me for a while. I'll catch up and pass them. It's all going to help for my volume. So we grew that agency to what, 39 to 69 agents within our first 60 days. And they none of them were licensed. These were all brand new. People like myself never had a license. And I think our fifth month, Cody, we were doing over 100,000amonth in APV our fifth month. And so we just grew that organization from 1 million to 2 million. The next year we did 4 million. Next year we did 8 million, then 30. Some million, like, it's just gone from there.
