How To Recruit A Winning Team In The Insurance Industry! (Nate Auffort at 8% Nation Conference)

A high-energy keynote by Nate Auffort at the 8% Nation conference using football metaphors to urge insurance agents to recruit continuously, practice more than they play, and build and coach a team to create a legacy. The talk contrasts players vs. spectators, includes audience huddles and call-and-response, references other presenters' themes (discipline, mindset, resilience), and closes with both a comeback/resilience metaphor and concrete lead-activity guidance (25 leads -> 20 contacts/week; examples of agents producing $200k+ premium and $100k+ net).

What's every winning football team do? They recruit, don't they? Why do they recruit? They recruit, a, to replace the players that are aging, that don't have the stamina anymore, and they b, they recruit to replace the players that don't have the commitment anymore. And they're constantly recruiting, hoping they're going to find new talent that's better than the talent they already have. You want to be in a winning team? What do you got to do? Recruit. The day after you win the super bowl with your team, what are you doing? No, you're doing nothing. You're celebrating. You just won the freaking Super Bowl, Recruit. What are you doing the day after that? Recruit. You're looking for new talent to prepare for the next year so you can win again. You don't go out there and win one ring or one trophy and be like, oh, okay, I got my trophy. Got my ring. Bye. What do you want? You want another one? And you want what? And what else do you want, you greedy bastards? The winningest teams in the NFL and in football, do they just show up on the first Sunday of the season, make sure their pads still fit, dust off their cleats and go and play the game? Is that what they do? What do they do? They practice, don't they? They practice more than they play. They study what game film. They practice their what plays. They memorize their what plays, and if they don't, they get what cut from the team. You don't get involved in this business and grab a bunch of leads and buy them and then go practice on your first call with a lead that you bought. You got to practice. You got to practice. You don't go out there on your first sale and hope you do a wouldn't you? Couldn't you? Shouldn't you. Don't you agree this is interesting to you, isn't it? In a presentation with someone who has your money, what do you do? What do you do? You practice? Are you practicing more than you play? Every professional football player spends more time practicing and preparing than they ever do playing, don't they? So if you want to be a professional in the industry you're in, what do you have to do? There's two people in football. There's players and there's spectators. We've all seen them, haven't we? How many seen the spectators? They're up in the stands, right? 20 below zero, drunk off their ass with a big O on their chest. Yeah, let's go taking selfies. Look, we're at the game. We're at the game. Guess who they're watching? Millionaires. The players who makes all the money. Guys in the stands or on the field? We got some spectators in here. You bought your license. You saw Cody's ad. You saw him on a road show. Like, I'm going 8%. You've been in the stands clapping and cheering, but you still ain't doing nothing. How many here think it's time to start doing something? Do I have any players in the room? If you're a player, let me see you hear player say player. If you're a player in the room, let me hear you say player. Player. Now, huddle up. Huddle up. Come on, let's go. Out of your seats. Huddle up. Let's go. Bring it up front. We got two minutes left. Huddle up. Come on, you guys in the back. We got two minutes left in the game. Some of you are exhausted. Some of you guys are tired. Do I have my players? Are my players here? Do I have my players? Let's go. This is it. Let's. Who wants to take home the championship ring? This organization that Cody and Lauren askin this movement that they've created is about caring for people. It's about caring for them more than they care about themselves. It's respecting the other team members who aren't on your team, not trying to steal their players because you can't coach and train them yourself. Maybe one out of 10 will get this, maybe one out of 20. But the day you can stand back and you can look at a portfolio of your players that came to you broke, hopeless, hungry, and you took the time to care for them more than they cared about themselves. And you coached them and you trained them and you bandaged them when they were hurt, and you picked them up and gave them strength when they didn't have the strength to get up themselves. And you can look back and see those players helped you build a dynasty. And if every one of you put forth the effort to build a legacy in your own company, in your own organization, just like that, where will this organization be in the next handful of years? Where will it be? We'll be doing trainings like this in football stadiums. We heard Cody talk about disrupt. Who's ready to say disrupt? Say disruption. We heard Derek Johnson Talk about 10% of what happens to you in life is what happens to you and 90% is how you respond to it. We heard Lauren Estes talk about attitude. We heard Darren Stubbs talk about, well, guess what? You got to embrace it. It's going to suck. If you're rich, it's going to suck. It's hard to get rich. It's hard to be broke. Pick your hard, didn't we we heard Jesse Etzer say what? Speak it into the universe rewards the soul. Do you have a soul? How is your soul? Tim Tebow said, embrace the good, embrace the bad. But what's it going to take to motivate you to get the job done? Greg talked about you have to expect resistance on every call and every sale. Didn't he, A lot of you guys want to play football. You're like, don't tackle me. Just two hand touch. And Ed Bylette said, what? We all deal with pain and look at pain differently. All the knowledge in the world without action still pierces ignorance. We spent the last two and a half days getting poured into how to achieve wealth, how to achieve success, and what to expect along the way. It's your job when you leave here to get on that field and implement it. And it's not going to be easy. It's going to take every living, dying breath and cell in your body to push through when everything looks like it's the end. Imagine it's NFL Super Bowl Sunday and your team's in the big game and you call your family and friends all around. You're like, we're having a party at the house two hours before you get a phone call and your mom's being rushed to the hospital. You cancel the party. We're not doing this. You run to the hospital, you go into the emergency room and thank God it was just a scare. She had a panic attack they thought was a heart attack. So you're like, thank God. You get home and you tape the game and you're ready to sit down and watch the game and a buddy of yours texts you, hey, how is your mom? She's doing great. He goes, great to hear. Congratulations on your team winning by one point with last minute left. And you're like, what? So you turn the game on and you start watching. Team looks horrible. Quarterback can't complete a pass, defense letting them run all over him. 7 nothing, 14 nothing. You're like, what is going on? Second quarter, they got to turn around, right, Joe? They won by one with one minute left, same thing, quarterback throws it. Pick six, 21 to nothing, 28 to nothing. It's halftime. You got a little doubt, don't you? Go search espn. Like, sure enough, they won at that moment. What are you thinking? You're thinking, man, this is going to be the greatest comeback in the history of the NFL Super Bowl. Isn't that what you're thinking? Some of you guys are down 28 to nothing right now. It's halftime. I know the outcome of the game. Cody knows the outcome of the game. Brian Askin knows the outcome of the game. We just haven't texted you yet. Well, here's your text. If you don't quit, some of you guys need to come back. If you don't quit and you power through, you're going to be on top and you're going to win. With less than a minute left by one point. Play that one in your head. You know it's possible. Now you know. Now you have to execute. Vince Lombardi said it the best. He said, I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of everything that he holds dear is that moment that he's worked his heart out for a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle, but victorious. Let's go, 8% nation. Time to be victorious. Hey, if you enjoyed this, I got another one you're gonna love. It's right there. Click on it. See you in there. Yeah. If you take 25 leads, make 20 contacts per week, whether they say no or yes, then, yeah, several agents writing over 200,000 of annual premium, you know, netting over $100,000, which is amazing. And you.
