On the Street With Quility Episode 1 - Parents

Quility asks parents in Asheville what scares them most about raising kids. A 40-year-old with three children says failing as a parent keeps him up at night. Most cite money and emotional readiness as real fears, and agree life insurance gives them peace of mind, though cost and avoiding thoughts of death hold people back.

We are out here on the streets today of Asheville, North Carolina, to ask people all things. Life and life insurance. While the digital way to secure life insurance is new, the need for it is not. Let's see if strangers agree and see just how much they know about life insurance. Would you tell me a little bit about yourself?
So I'm 40. I'm from New Jersey.
Are you married right now?
I do. I am married.
And children?
Three kids.
Tell me about parents parenting a little bit. Like, what is the scariest thing about being a parent?
Most parents will probably tell you the same thing. It's a failure. Failure to do what's, you know, to teach them right from wrong, to raise them right.
Not knowing what to do, not having enough information for all of the things.
Does it give you a new perspective when you're having to plan the future? Like when you have a kid in the mix and you're trying to.
Oh, absolutely. There's so much that goes into, you know, am I ready emotionally, financially?
Do you have life insurance?
I do, yes.
All right. How long have you had life insurance for?
Close to 10 years now.
10 years. What motivated you to get life insurance?
You know, just for the safety, you know, peace of mind, basically.
My husband has life insurance.
Does he have that through his work or is it a personal policy? Both. Do you have life insurance?
Yes.
What made you make that decision?
You know, tomorrow's not guaranteed for everyone. You never know when it's your time. And the only for sure thing there is about life is death.
Real chipper subjects, right?
To take care of me and the kids. If anything happened to him.
Did you have things you wanted to protect and make sure were protected?
Of course, yeah. Family.
Why do you think certain people are hesitant to even look at life insurance? Some people seem like they just want to put it off and they don't want to think about it.
Yeah, I mean, when you're young and, you know, starting to work, probably you have other expenses to take care of and you really don't plan ahead of time. But I think it's a really good advice to consider having life insurance.
I think probably fear of the unknown, it forces you to face certain things that could happen, possibly that are out of your control. And I think also cost has a lot of. Especially for younger people. It plays a really big part in it.
So someone who doesn't have life insurance, you would give them the advice that they should do it?
Definitely, yes. It's a must.
Should they pursue it and look into it a little bit?
I should Definitely. Yeah, definitely recommend it, or at least look into it, see if it's the right thing for you.
Do you personally get some peace of mind having life insurance within your family?
Yes. Yeah. Because you don't know. You don't know. You can walk across the street and something can happen that's devastating and that's. You know, you feel that constriction in your chest and you don't want to think about it. People avoid that. But we live in a world that moves so quickly that it's almost a grounding force. Like, something as simple as less than $20 a month would be a very grounding, comforting force.
You heard it here, folks. Parenting can be a little difficult, but life insurance does not have to be. You can go to Quility and see how you can get life insurance in 10 minutes or less.
Awesome. Good job.
Awesome. Thank you so much. Thank you so much for meeting with us.
Thank you.
And I hope you have a wonderful time in Asheville. Thank you. You, too. Thank. You.
