Day in the Life: A Day at the Beach

Travis and Danya's family heads to the beach for a day off, showing what it actually takes to get two young kids ready, get there, and back home again.
I have another day in the life for you. Today we get to hang out with Travis and Danya and their kiddos. This is a family with a three and a half year old and a 17 month old, two parents who work full time outside of the home. And on this particular day they both have a day off and they decided to go to the beach. And as you watch, what I want you to see is even though it was an imperfect so sleep day, it ended up being a perfect day for this family.
Good morning. Just woke up a little bit ago. Going to get a few things ready before the kids wake up so we can get going for our day trip to the beach before the kids wake up. First coffee. I turn on the oven so I can pop in breakfast and have it ready to go when they wake up. Just to make things a little bit faster, we can get on the road quickly. Cinnamon rolls are in the oven. I'm going to get the kids water and snacks ready for the car and then pack our snack bag for the beach. Last night I already packed the snacks that don't need to be cold and so I'll just throw in the cold snacks right now and it just makes it a little bit quicker if you pack a little bit than before. Throw snack bag into the car and little spot. As you can see, I already had this packed night. We have a wagon, chairs, this is our bag with our towels, the kids, swimsuits, little baby toys. Seven o'. Clock. Look who's awake. Good morning. You get your brother awake. Okay, let's go. Morning, buddy. Good morning. I typically wouldn't get him dressed, but since we're going to eat and go, I'm going to go ahead and get him ready for what he's going to wear in the car. We'll eat and then we'll go. Good morning kids. Eat with dad. I grab last minute things and get them in the car and we're off. Ready, babe? Ready. Ready. Remy, say beach time. Beach time. We are 20 minutes out from the beach. Kids are still doing good, getting a little restless. We're ready to be there. Made it. Yay. Ready. Beat time. Nap time is usually 12 o'. Clock. It is 1209. So we are going to have snacks and try to push this lake window. It you don't know, you don't know. Say bye bye ocean. Look at you. Are you all dirty? How are we gonna get you? Hey, we just left the beach. We just stopped to pick up food from one of our favorite place, Miguel's. They have such good Mexican food. We're so excited, but we can't go inside and eat because we're gonna just keep on going. Hope for the kids to sleep in the car. So we got to go. It's time to wake up. It's time to wake up. You have a good nap. We're home. Yay. All right, we are home. Everything is unloaded. A little bit of a disaster. Going to unload the cooler. My husband has the grill going, and we're going to get dinner here pretty soon. Sam, he was a little fussy at that time, but that's because he's over tired and outside his room right now. As you can hear, he's not crying. He went to sleep. As soon as I shut that door, he was out. Airplanes. Okay, how many are there? Count them. One. There's only two, so everybody can go to check. Yeah, but we fight on that one. Yeah, we fly on that one. Okay. Clean up. Clean up. Everybody, everywhere. Clean up, clean up. Everybody do your share. Good job, baby. Amen. Love you, baby girl. Lake out. I know. I love you, Sam.
