This is a YouTube video titled "Is your toddler struggling with transitions from one activity to the next? Here are my tips!" created in October 2024. The content features a discussion between two speakers about toddler developmental behavior, specifically addressing how to manage transitions by setting boundaries and offering choices to children to foster security and cooperation.
Did you know it's developmentally appropriate for toddlers to struggle with transitions? You know, the transition from having fun at the park to leaving the park, the transition from playing to getting ready for bed. It's normal. But here's something you can do to help. State your boundary. Then give two choices. Just like this Oakley.
It's time to take a bath. Do you want Mommy to carry you down to the bath? Or do you want to pretend like we're dinosaurs? All the way down to the bath? Okay, come on. Ready?
Giving choices makes them feel like they have a say in their little world. But it allows you to hold on to your firm, loving boundary. And this leads to security and children.
