New Parents Thoughts of The Newborn Sleep Class

This is a YouTube video titled "New Parents Thoughts of The Newborn Sleep Class" containing a multi-speaker testimonial-style discussion from April 2016. Various new parents and a pediatric occupational therapist named Kara share their experiences and positive outcomes after attending Kara's newborn sleep class, highlighting improvements in their babies' sleep patterns and overall family well-being. The content focuses on the benefits of the sleep training class and its impact on both babies and parents.
So we followed Kara's plan and the whole family was a lot happier. And then at 10 weeks, he slept 10 and a half hours straight through the night. And I just couldn't believe it. I woke up in shock that the sunrise had woken me up and not the baby.
I remember when I signed up for the class, my daughter was crying. I was crying. I just didn't know what to do. She gave us tools that I felt like I could actually use and go home right away and put them into practice. And you know what? It worked. It worked every single time. It changed my life and it changed my daughter's life. Because as a pediatric occupational therapist, I understand how much sleep plays a role in a child's development. And it was really concerning me that she wasn't getting the sleep that she needed. And when I put these tools into practice, I'm telling you, it just, it works.
We took a lot of classes at the hospital that prepared us for the delivery of the baby. And for the first few hours the baby was alive. But then nobody really told us what to do when we brought Faith home. So Kara's class really helped prepare us for feeding her and keeping her on a schedule and definitely the sleep. So Faith, ever since she was 7 weeks old, has slept between 10 and 12 hours a night. We didn't know if this would work. We were kind of skeptical, thinking, yeah, right. We've never heard of a two month old sleeping through the night. Most of our friends didn't have babies that slept through the night. So we thought, you know, why not just try it? These are the tools that we have. And so we stuck with it. And at seven weeks, all of a sudden we thought something was wrong one night because she just wasn't waking and we kept checking her and she was sound asleep, happily asleep. And it really helped us get our own sleep, our own rest, and sort of kind of fall into this whole, you know, becoming a family and not going insane all the time.
I don't know if you're like me and you've read all the books. I read books. The books didn't work and the books didn't help me when they weren't working. And so I know that these tools that care gives work, and if I had them ahead of time, it would just have been so much easier.
We recommend the class. Like I said, we were first time parents and we were just trying to collect tools and we took a lot of classes. But of all the classes, this is the one that really stuck with us, that we got the Most out of and really kind of changed our life.
By three months old, Caden has been sleeping 11 hours a night and has been sleeping that ever since then. And he is now seven months and continuing to sleep 11 to 12 hours a night without crying.
So taking Kara's class literally changed my life. I wish every mom could take this class.
Rowan's my firstborn little guy, and I'm a first time mom. In the beginning, you really have no idea what you're doing. After taking Kara's class, I had an amazing guide to look to. She helped me figure out bedtime for his age. It really helped our family. He was sleeping eight to nine hours by about 10 weeks old. You know, it changed our life. It made us very happy and well rested and it made for a very happy little guy.
This is Faith, and she was sleeping about eight hours plus a night around seven, eight weeks. With the use of Kara's class and definitely some implementation of other rules. But she's a great sleeper and we have Kara to thank for that.
I'm a labor and delivery nurse. I thought that a lot of stuff would come easy for me. I had a pretty easy time nursing, but the sleeping thing was completely out.
Of our realm for us.
My husband and I found the class when our daughter was about 10 weeks old. We were a little nervous to kind of start the class late, but because we did it when she was a little bit older, we were able to come home and implement it that night. And we went from a baby that was sleeping an hour and a half to two hours a night. And the very first night she slept five hours. It really changed everything in our house. I mean, my husband and I were completely sleep deprived. He had gone back to work. I was still on maternity leave, but I went from being up every hour and a half to two hours, feeding her constantly. The only thing I thought I could do to fix the problem to being able to get sleep ourselves. We were happier with each other. We had more time when she went to bed at night to spend just the two of us together. It was, yeah, it completely changed our relationship and it changed our relationship with our baby. We had a happier baby during the day. We had a happier. I don't know, we had more time to do things.
And she's always been happy to go to sleep and ready for bed when we've laid her down in her crib. So that was no tears, no crying sleep, which is nice for us because that's no guilt.
Kara's class was the best class I took because it gave me specific ideas and tools that I needed for him. Where the other classes I took gave just more general information.

I always say, you know, in a couple of weeks when your baby's up all the time and you're starting to get really tired. This class is fantastic and Kara's amazing.
I would highly recommend Kara's class to any new expecting mom. Her class is amazing. It will get your child to sleep and it will get you to have a good night's sleep as well.

Every pregnant lady should attend this class, even if it's not your first baby. Sleep changes everything for the whole family.
