This is a YouTube video titled "🛑Stop feeling guilty for letting your baby play alone!" featuring a conversation between two speakers discussing the benefits of independent play for young children. The dialogue addresses parental guilt and encourages allowing children to play independently to foster creativity and problem-solving skills. The content was created in May 2025.
I have something to tell you. When Ella was a baby, I often felt guilty. Okay, it wasn't.
Just when she was a baby.
Even up to toddlerhood, I often felt guilty if I wasn't playing with her, interacting with her anytime she was awake. I felt like I should be her entertainment director and I needed somebody to.
Tell me then what I'm about to tell you. Independent play is good for our little ones.
Independent.
Play fosters imagination, creativity. It builds problem solving skills. It is so good for them. Now I'm not saying unsupervised play. I'm just saying independently. Sure, there's a time for face to face play. That's good. But independent play is good too. So permission granted to allow your little one to play next to you while you sit on the couch doing whatever brings you joy, flipping through magazine, whatever it is, read a book, something. Today you have that permission.
