Welcome to TN Nursery YouTube channel. Today, let's talk about Arrowwood Viburnum. Viburnum dentatum shrub, also known as Arrowwood Viburnum. It can also grow vast, giving it plenty of room to spread when planting. This shrub is versatile and can easily thrive in various soil conditions. Also known as Southern Arrowwood for their use in making arrow shafts by Native Americans, they're considered one of the most versatile deciduous shrubs. They're easy to grow due to their high adaptability to different ranges of moisture, pH, and soil. Additionally, easily transplanted, one of the primary uses is privacy by creating barriers and screening. The flowers present themselves in flat clusters, have a high fragrance, and may sometimes continue to be present at the beginning of June. Once fall arrives, the dense foliage begins changing colors from shades of yellow to red and red-purple. During autumn, the shrub provides berries varying in shades of blue to black and provides ornamental interest to propagate by seeds while being eatable for birds. As they begin to ripe, the berries attract around 10 species of birds like robins, catbirds, finches, and more. Many are songbirds that manage insect populations. The plant grows into an attractive shrub showing off clusters of white flowers against dark, glossy, green foliage.
