Welcome to TN Nursery YouTube channel. Today, let's talk about bluets. Bluets, known as Houstonia caerulea or Quaker Ladies, is a perennial herbaceous plant belonging to the Rubiaceae family. It is native to eastern Canada and abundant in the United States. Quaker Ladies' names arise from the flower's resemblance to hats worn by ladies belonging to the Quaker faith in old times. This plant is an adequate ground cover as it quickly grows under tall trees without the need for sunlight. It grows better in organic, moist soil with slightly acidic soil pH and tolerates shallow rocky soil. Moist to good drainage enables the plant to bloom fast. It prefers partial sun and partial to full shade but does not appreciate hot afternoon sun. These flowering perennials are easy to grow and propagate through seeds or bare root plants. To grow from seeds, stratify and sow the seeds at a shallow depth in spring. The seedlings will show in the first year while the flowers bloom the following year. These perennials are available commercially in seeds and bare root plants. Wildflower bluets reproduce through the dispersal of seeds through birds or wind. Usually, these plants grow in shady areas but may also be found in other areas when dispersed. People buy these flowering plants widely to line garden pathways. Bluets is for sale at Tennessee Wholesale Nursery, with low prices and fast shipping. Thanks for watching.
