Welcome to TN Nursery YouTube channel. Today let's talk about goldenseal plant. Goldenseal, Hydrastis canadensis, is a perennial herb in the buttercup family that may reach a height of 6 to 12 inches and often has 3 maple-like glossy green leaves on each branch. At the end of the stem, a single white flower with yellow stamens, a tight cluster of red berries, and a pair of 5-lobed stem leaves, all arising from a yellow underground rhizome. Each crimson berry contains a persistent shape and 1 or 2 black gleaming seeds. The rhizome has a bitter taste, and they appear to be twisting and wrinkly in appearance. Like wide other varieties in the buttercup genus, the flower is devoid of petals. There are many other names for this plant that you may refer to it. It is commonly known as eye balm, orange root, yellow pakoon, jaundice root, golden root, eye root, and Indian plant. The plant derives its popular name from the thick yellow rhizome that grows from the base of the plant. You may see them growing in moist, rich, and hardwood forests.
