Hey guys, it's Bailey with Tia Nursery, and I want to show you our trumpet vine today. Trumpet vine is one of our best sellers because of its beautiful flowers that attract tons and tons of hummingbirds. You'll see ruby throats, you'll see all kinds of hummingbirds if you have this planted around your place. It's native to the Southeast United States. It's known for its large trumpet-shaped flowers that can be orange, red, or yellow. Depending on the soil's pH. The flowers are a magnet for hummingbirds and has tons of nectar in them. The blooms typically appear midsummer all the way through fall. It can grow 30 to 40 feet long with support. It's a very good climber and is used— uses aerial roots to cling on to walls and fences and trees. The leaves have 7 to 11 split little leaves on them. I'll show you an example of that in just a minute. It tolerates a wide, a wide range of soils. It loves poor and sandy soils. It's very, very drought tolerant, and if you live somewhere it don't get much rain, that's exactly what you need to plant. It's hardy in zones 4 through 9. It also attracts bees and butterflies. It produces long seed pods that dry out and split open and releases winged seeds, kind of like a maple seed. It grows several feet per growing season. I'm going to pull one in just a minute and show you. I already pulled it, but I, I— that's a 1-year-old plant. I believe it was probably planted this spring, so it's probably just a couple months old, and that's how much that it has grown. It's a wonderful plant. See how long that is? It's a wonderful vining plant to put around your place, and it's a native, so it needs nothing to survive.
