Welcome to TN Nursery YouTube channel. Today, let's talk about Kousa Dogwood tree. Kousa Dogwood tree is a beautiful medium-sized tree that extends to approximately 30 feet at maturity. The tree is also called Chinese Dogwood because it is native to our flowering dogwood trees and is almost considered its cousin. The wood of this tree is quite hard. Because of this hardness, the trees got their genus Cornus, derived from a Latin word cornu, which means horn. The name Kosa is derived from the Japanese language, which is the plant's name. These ornamental trees are pretty renowned for their unique and attention-grabbing name. The tree takes on various appearances depending upon its age. When the tree is young, it develops a conical shape and is considered to grow in quite an exemplary fashion. In its youth, this cousin of a flowering tree becomes more vase-shaped. When maturity comes, the tree acquires more of a rounded form with extended horizontal branching. During this period, the branches of these trees spread widely and showed their full glory. They flourish well in a sunny location, but they can grow well in partial shade. It does much better in open areas like lawns and parks than in the native trees. However, they will still require part shade, especially in the afternoon. Kousa Dogwood Tree is for sale at TN Nursery, with low prices and fast shipping.
