A white dogwood from TN Nursery gets repotted into akadama and lava rock soil, then sheltered under a carport for winter. Next spring, the creator plans to wire and prune it into formal bonsai shape, aiming for the tree's white blossoms.

So we're officially about to repot this white dogwood tree. A couple days late, but we're gonna get it repotted in this pot here. We already have our soil mixture of akadama soil and lava rocks. Springtime we will add, um, some pine bark to it, but for now we're going to repot it. Wire it in here and just leave it as is until early spring. Try to get it to focus on some of these buds right here. There we go. So it's going to have some beautiful flowers, and springtime we will begin to bonsai it. So it doesn't look like much right now, but it's in a nice beautiful pot. We'll water it, uh, you know, as often as we can, maybe once a week if that, throughout the rest of the winter. So I'm in Atlanta, Georgia. It's just now starting to get like cold, cold, cold. We'll get a little bit of freezing weather. But this is pretty much going to go under my carport to keep it protected from the wind. Like I said, next year we are going to put just— we're going to add a little bit of movement to the trunk, nothing major. Wire these, do some good pruning so we can get some bifurcation going on. But yeah, this came from TN Nursery or tnursery.net if you want to search their website, or TN Nursery on Instagram— I'm not Instagram— TikTok. This is gonna, it's gonna give us some beautiful, beautiful, beautiful white flowers in the springtime. So yeah, stay tuned for this little project. Hopefully I can keep this tree for years and years and years to come.
