In this TN Nursery YouTube video, the host introduces the poppy plant, Stylophorum defilum, a herbaceous perennial native to the eastern United States. The plant is described as having bright yellow‑orange four‑petal flowers with ruffled centers and blue‑green basal leaves that are lobed, opposite, and typically found in woodland, moist calcareous soils, and ravines during early summer and spring. The speaker outlines its growth habit (1–2 ft tall, up to 24 in when mature), preferred cultivation conditions (partial sun to shade, moist loamy well‑drained soil, pH ranging from acidic to neutral), and its ecological benefits (attracts pollinators, resistant to insects and diseases). It is noted as a naturalized woodland species that pairs well with native companions such as Mertensia and Trillium. Propagation occurs by scattering seeds in shady, partially sunny locations. The video concludes with a sales pitch, stating that poppy plants are available for purchase from Tennessee Wholesale Nursery with low prices and fast shipping.

Welcome to TN Nursery YouTube channel. Today, let's talk about poppy plant. Poppy plants, Stylophorum defilum, a sight-beholding herbaceous perennial found in North America and indigenous to the eastern United States, seems an unreal addition to any garden or meadow. The eye-catching bright yellow and orange four-petal flowers have ruffled centers and blue-green basal leaves paired, lobed, and opposite, commonly found in woodlands, moist forests on calcareous rocks, and ravines in early summer and spring. Deciduous plants require specific conditions, including partial sun and slight or complete shades, to grow optimally. Moist, loamy, and well-drained soil is preferred, while the pH can vary from acidic to neutral. This perennial is a woodland plant that can grow 1 to 2 feet tall from the ground, while the wildflowers easily reach 24 inches when they mature. They attract pollinators through rich, bright colors of blooms while resistant to insects or diseases. Celandine poppies are naturalized in moist woodland, complementing native plant gardens and contrasting other plant species like Mertensia and Trillium grown in the same region. The species propagate through even scattering seeds all over the soil and initially cover with more soil under a shady place in partial sunlight. Poppy plant is for sale at Tennessee Wholesale Nursery, with low prices and fast shipping. Thanks for watching!
