Prairie Trillium is a North American Wildflower Perennial - TN Nursery

Welcome to TN Nursery YouTube channel. Today let's talk about prairie trillium. Prairie trillium, or known as Trillium recurvatum, is a wildflower plant. It is native to North America and is found in forests and clean places. It is a small perennial plant, which means it blooms mid to late spring and goes dormant as the summer continues. It is best to plant these with other shade-loving flowers so that when they go lethargic in summer, those other flowering plants take their space until they bloom back in spring. They serve an excellent usage as a backdrop ground cover if grown together in a large amount. This beautiful flowering plant grows unbranched. The central stem is erect and varies in color. It forms different shades ranging from light green to reddish-purple. The flower is covered by 3 spreading leaves which generally bend outwards. These leaves are ovate and the tips are slightly curved outwards. These leaves also show a variety of colors as they mature. The upper surface is generally medium green, mottled with spots and patches of dark green and light green. The lower surface is not mottled and forms a pale green color throughout. However, some leaves also develop a solid green upper surface and stay non-mottled. That happens on rare occasions and is not a standard characteristic of these leaves.
