Welcome to another episode of the Achieve Podcast, the show where we highlight leaders, creators, and entrepreneurs, those who are building meaningful businesses, shaping their industries, and having an impact. I'm Taylor Baker Baker, your host, and excited today to be joined by Dr. Katherine Bell, the president at Impact— Titan Impact Group, and you can find them at titanimpactgroup.com. So, Dr. Katherine, thank you so much for joining us today.
Thank you for having me.
That's all. I'm excited about this one. We have some good content we can go through. So for those getting to know you, if you wouldn't mind, give us the backstory a little bit on what brought you into this space and who you're currently serving, cuz you're a woman of many talents.
So, uh, originally Canadian, married my late husband in 2001, came to the country. Um, I came with nothing, was a millionaire by the time I was 30. And, um, because of the crash in '09, we literally lost everything and were completely homeless a couple years later. And then, um, fast forward, learned from those lessons about, uh, diversifying all the investments into multiple streams of passive income, but more importantly into different asset classes. Fast forward, had done that, uh, through lots of different investing, and people can learn about it through my books. Um, I, uh, in 2018, my husband died very tragically, leaving me a widow and a single mom with 14-year-old twins, but I created 13 streams of passive income for my family at that point, and it let me take a year off and grieve and figure out what I was going to do. So moving forward, I created Titan Impact Group. So Titan as being the Sentinels of the American Dream, uh, Impact is that I believe that we can do good and do well at the same time. So all of my projects that I have anything to do with, we leave every person, property, and community better than we found them. And Group is set up so that other people and other families can actually plug into my investments and create multiple streams of passive income for their families. So I'm on a mission to have every single person and every single family have 7 streams of passive income because it helps mitigate against the 5 Ds. So it's death, divorce, diagnosis, downsized from the economy, or being dumped from their jobs. So when I speak from stages or anything like that, I have people hold their fingers and generally people have experienced at least 3 of those. And so they're all emotionally devastating, but the financial on top of it makes it worse. And so I've done all of that. And then of course, the age of AI showed up. And so dove into there. And because of that, I've become a 5-time international bestselling author. But again, my brain thinks very differently. And how I took AI and what I did with that is I actually created a clone of myself. So people can go see it. It's kathrynbell.ai. And they can go have a conversation with the, clone virtual version of myself, and she's had over 118,000 conversations with people, and she has actually been a huge part of helping families create, um, 7 streams of passive income for their families. So a lot of educating, coaching, bringing resources, whatever, and it's free to everybody. And so from there, um, last year I was able— my company was able to do over $150 million. Because of that. And so since then, I've had, uh, other hedge funds and private equity groups and family offices and companies hire my team to actually come in and implement AI the way we have, which is, um, absolutely critical and paramount. It's— it all starts with the foundation of who they are as a company, and by doing that, it literally changes everything. And I've got multiple testimonials of companies literally going from like struggling to now they're over $100 million assets under management in like a very short period of time. So all because of understanding that AI is meant to take away and do the mundane tasks so that we can do the higher level thinking and work on our business instead of in our business. And when we can do that, we can make a huge difference. And so that leads into the impact piece. And of doing good and doing well. So I've got 2 nonprofits. And so Wealth Wise Women, again, teaching all like husbands, wives, kids, everybody how to work together and create these multiple streams of income. And when you have 7, now your family is protected. But now from there you grow it and you go income stream number 8, 9, 10 through 40. Now those get to be allocated to go make a difference in the world. So maybe they're allocated to go build an orphanage or school overseas, like whatever that is that has them, you know, makes their heart sing and makes them, you know, really understand that wealth has a responsibility and the responsibility is to make a difference. And my other nonprofit is— this is where we're really using AI— is that right now there's over 120,000 adoptable children in the US foster care system that are available for adoption. And people are unaware of this. And there's 2.1 million families looking to adopt. So there's a huge gap in connecting and educating. So we're using AI to bring these families to find the right kids. Because if these children aren't adopted by their 18th birthday, they experience Black Trash Bag Day. And that means on their 18th birthday, they're handed a black trash bag, they're told to put all their belongings in it, and then statistically these kids end up homeless. So 70% of the people who are homeless came out of foster care, which leads to drugs, prostitution, and being trafficked. 60% of the kids being trafficked came out of foster care, and two-thirds of our incarcerated population came out of foster care. So the solution, the solution just isn't about finding them some, a place to live or a job. It literally comes down to them having a family because having a family and having those bonds changes their neuron pathways in their brain to allow them to go on and form healthy bonds later on in life so they can go on and become productive contributing members to society. And literally stop the cycle that they were born into. So we're using AI to connect the adoption agencies that focus on this type of adoption, not the foster care system. I can't fix that. But the adoption agencies helping the families help find the families, the families find them, and then all the resources that come from there to help the families, to help the, um, the kids, everything. And so we have a program Uh, it's a hero program. So for $555 donation, people get to become a hero to a kid because with AI, $555 literally gets a child adopted. We've already gotten 69 kids adopted, and so literally changes a kid's life forever. So I adopted my twins out of the foster care system. I got them when they were 4 months old, and now they're 21. My son went on to become a US Marine. My daughter's building her own empire. And even more personal than that, I was adopted when I was 16 and it saved my life. Oh, so I'm very, very clear the impact of when a child is adopted. The— literally, it changes the course of their life forever. So there's multiple ways, and, um, chosenforever.org is where people can learn more about that. And I wrote, um, multiple books on all the things that we just talked about. Um, so yes, very much, I believe that we can do good and do well at the same time. And so, if we can, we must. And we do that by adding multiple commas to bank accounts. And so, I do that every way I can. And so, we do virtual events. I have a daily podcast that we bring people on, we coach and mentor them through. We're doing a live event here in Scottsdale in the fall. Again, I— and it's all about like, Knowing isn't enough. It's about the doing. And I said to my kids all the time, like, I don't care what you know, I only care what you do. So people may know, you know, that they need to do all this, but if they're not doing anything about it, what's the point knowing? So everything we do is about taking the next right step and connecting the who that knows how to that person to help catapult them forward in whatever there is, whatever they're building.
Wow, you just like firehosed so many good things. So, um, well, let's kind of break down a little bit. What would you say is driving growth for the organization right now? Like, how— what's working?
So, uh, definitely what's working is the AI and how we have created this. So like I said, um, my company, what we've done is we've been able to literally build out, uh, the foundation for understanding exactly who the company is, but more importantly, doing what the, the Fortune 500 companies do, which most people aren't aware of this, the Fortune 500 companies spend hundreds of millions of dollars understanding one thing: their ideal client avatar. And when I understood that, all of a sudden everything changed. So we come in and literally build out the ideal client avatar and give it a personality so that now every person in the company actually gets to have a conversation ongoingly with the ideal client avatar. So all marketing gets run through, all marketing gets voted on, like all messaging gets run through the ideal client avatar because it's about the right message at the right time in front of the right person. If you don't have those 3 things, you're literally wasting your marketing dollars and your time and energy, right? When you get— when you nail that, everything in your company absolutely changes. So we have a whole team and, you know, we do all this and it's again, Titan as being the sentinels of the American dream. So we're out to help protect that and help people grow that, whatever that looks like for them. So AI is a huge part of what we do.
Wow. So looking back for you, what turning points have had the greatest impact on how you think about and run the organizations?
So obviously losing everything in '09 you know, being diversified into multiple different asset classes. My husband dying in 2018, um, and getting really clear chasing money wasn't the answer, but making an impact and making a difference was. So I tell— I give lots— anybody knows me knows I tell, you know, give them lots of books to read. So there's a book called, um, Who Not How by Dan Sullivan. Yeah, tell everybody to read that because that changed everything. Um, Starting with Why by Simon Sinek. Understanding your why is critical. And, um, then from there, um, my other favorite book is The Road Less Stupid by Keith Cunningham. And what he says is, he says you don't need to be making more better decisions, you need to be making less stupid decisions. And if we take the time to actually think through the different things, you're like, oh, if I would have just thought about that. And he literally gives these brilliant questions to ask and to think about, about your business and about your life. And it literally like changes the course of your life forever. So those are some. And I've got a list of like 250 other books, but those are like the high-level, super important ones.
Wow, that is so wonderful. And I love that. And you have that resource. Do you have that book on your website, that list of books on your website?
Or how do you actually— if you go to meetkathrynbell.com, there's a, a, a, uh, button that says Catherine's Favorite Things. You click there, there's like a whole list of all my favorite books, my favorite resources, my favorite AI tools, like all the things that we do to help build out and have created the empire that we've created. Wow.
Wow. So many ways to take this. So when it comes to attracting and retaining clients, What have you found has worked the best?
It all comes down to relationships. Here's what I love about AI is that AI takes again away the mundane tasks. So for instance, like every conversation I have is actually being recorded by AI. So I don't have to be taking notes and be distracted with taking notes. I just get to be fully present with the person. AI can't do that. It can't take away the ability to be fully present and right there with people. But when it takes away the mundane tasks so that I can be fully present, that's when everything changes. Because everything, everything, everything is about relationships. Everything, you know, which is why, again, every project we have anything to do with leaves every person, property, and community better than we found them.
I love that ethos. I love that. So, Katherine, if you had to pick one focus, one constraint to focus on, the next 90 days, what would it be?
Honing in my relationship with my ideal client avatar.
Okay.
Yep.
And that changes on the industry or the product or the company.
Everything. Yeah. It changes the messaging, the marketing, what the actual need is. I was listening to another book this morning and it reminded me of Jim Rohn said, help enough people get what they want and you get what you want. Right? So I say that focusing on my ideal client avatar, what does my ideal client avatar want and need and how can I best serve them and how can I help as many people actually have that, right? And honestly, like, yes, it'll help me get me what I want, but the reality is, I don't know, there's no better joy, at least for me, than helping everybody like get what they want and need and seeing their lives absolutely transform. Form and change. Like, that is like why I get up every day. It's so fun.
Oh, that is so beautiful. That is wonderful. So looking at your own journey, the wins, the mistakes, what lessons stand out to you, and which ones do you feel like maybe took longer to learn than they probably should have?
So, um, doing deep dive background checks on people, that's a really important piece. So when it comes to different people that we work with and that we invest with and that we build these partnerships with. When we implemented doing deep dive background checks, that absolutely saved us in the biggest way. All the heartache comes from not doing those like deep, deep dive background checks because again, as wonderful as people are and as nice as they are, the reality is, is that past predicts the future. So if they have, you know, if whatever somebody has done to somebody in the past, pretty much guaranteed they're going to do that to you again. So, and if it's a repeated pattern, so I want to know what the repeated patterns are so that I know, can I actually help deal with this? The second thing is, is before I work with anybody, I want to know how and when they failed. Because first of all, I don't want to be their first failure. I want to know how they got through it. Right. I'm not afraid that the failure happened. I'm actually grateful for it. Because how they got through it tells me their character. Do they have grit, determination, perseverance? That's what I want to know, because if they haven't failed and they haven't gone through anything, I don't want to be their guinea pig. And if they have failed and that they didn't come through it successfully and they're still in victim blaming everybody, I don't want to be a part of that either, right?
Yeah.
So it's, it's, it's important that we do that internal work ourselves and vet other people for how they've actually done or not done that work.
Wow. Yes, that is so good. Such good advice, especially some of these bigger moments and investments, transactions, partnerships. Hmm. So last question then. When you think about the next stages of the business, what are you most excited about?
So I'm the most excited about the where we're headed, which again, we've created, successfully created this amazing platform that brings all the ecosystems into place. And again, creating multiple streams of passive income opportunities for literally anybody from 10 years old all the way up so that they literally have that freedom of like the financial breathing room. But now they can go actually make a difference in the world. So very excited. We've just launched a couple of, um, investment opportunities, and we have for accredited investors, and we are launching a few other opportunities for people who are not accredited investors to get involved in, to literally create that financial freedom for their families. So I'm really excited about this.
That's awesome. And so for those who want to learn more, titanimpactgroup.com, then go to Catherine—

That is so wonderful. Any final thoughts for our listeners or others on a similar journey?
Is that the American dream is alive and well. Listen, coming from Canada, who's a socialist country, to the United States, who's a capitalist country, I feel like I have a, you know, a capitalist mind with a socialist heart. And when you bring those two together, you really can make an impact. But the reality is, is that that in this country, in this day and age, with all the resources and tools, you have a dream, literally like find the who that knows how, plug into them, and literally collapse timelines in your learning curve and go like make a bigger difference in the world. Make that impact that you're called here to make.
Oh, I love that. Go make that impact you are called to make. That is so awesome. So thank you for your time, for joining us and giving us— I know you're busy, you have a lot going on your plate.
