AI doesn't reject your resume on its own. A human set up the system with knockout questions, usually about visa sponsorship. If you answer yes, the ATS flags you automatically. Blame the person who configured it, not the algorithm.

But at the end of the day, a human still always has to make a decision to do something in there. Well, I submitted my resume and I immediately got rejected. How was that a human? One of the most common things I hear from people is that I customize my resume perfectly for the ATS, put in all the keywords, I write it exactly how it's supposed to be, and I still get auto-rejected by the AI. When people receive those instantaneous rejections, they do tend to be because of knockout questions. The most common one is like, do you require sponsorship to work at this company in the United States? And if we can't offer and you say yes, you might automatically get rejected. But again, that's not AI. That is me making that decision when I open the job to just like speed that process up of sending you the email that you rejected. So like there are more logical explanations to these things than people think, but at the end of the day, a human still always has to make a decision to do something in there.
