Taylor Desseyn talks about treating your job search as actual work, not a side project. Track every application and interview stage. Build a repeatable system instead of applying randomly, and refine your CV so it actually gets read.

You have to approach the job search like it's a job. If you just wake up in your pajamas and your bathrobe, and you're just out here sending DMs willy-nilly and hoping it's gonna work, it's not gonna work. You have to approach it from a grind perspective.
What you just said is so spot on. We just had a person on Twitter Space Saturday. They were asking for help with their CV, said, how do you know if your CV is a problem? Found out they were randomly applying. I said, you can't do that. It's gotta be strategic. You're an engineer. And as an engineer, your job is not about the code. It's about solving problems. Hopefully you have a methodology, a system about how you solve problems. I need you to get a pencil and paper, a Google Doc, a Google spreadsheet, I don't care. Get something and get a system, get a strategy that you're going to follow, because the next thing is you track everything— where you apply, when you apply, the interview process. So the point is, don't do random things.
