Taylor Desseyn talks about starting local communities for tech professionals. Begin small, even with just two people. Focus on non-tech activities that bring tech people together, and act as the catalyst to get it going.

Chapters

I think you can really cut through the noise if you are interested in creating community. I would start something that is not tech-related, but invite tech professionals. Find what you're passionate about and start something. I think so many people are sitting on the sidelines with these great ideas and they love people, but they don't know how to get started. Listen, listen, it starts with 2 people. It starts with 2 people. People need community more now than ever. And I think if you can be the catalyst for that change within your community, I think you could create something special.
