Taylor Desseyn explains how to stand out in job interviews by being a good storyteller, using humor, and getting the interviewer to talk about themselves. The goal is to leave a strong impression by shifting focus away from rehearsed answers.
Get them to talk about themselves as much as possible.
What do you think you do well in interviews that allows you to stay in the mix?
I'm very fortunate to be a good storyteller. I hope that's been evident on this. I tell a good story, I spin it in a good way, I bring humor and lightheartedness to all of it. But the biggest thing for me is that if you want the person you're talking to to feel like it was a great interview, get them to talk about themselves as much as possible. It's not manipulative. I'm not being false. I'm being genuine and honest. But I feel like they will walk away from that going, wow, what a great conversation. I got to talk about myself the whole time. It goes a long way.
