This is a YouTube video titled "focusing on networking #conference #techconference #techjobs #networkingtips" (created 2025-04-24T16:00:11Z). The excerpt is a short talk by a single speaker (labelled SPEAKER A) arguing that the primary purpose of events is to enable in-person meetings and networking rather than education, which can be obtained online; the speaker also notes events give educators or industry professionals a reason to teach. Context suggests a tech conference or networking-tips video.

If we take a step back and say, what's the purpose of these events? Education is not the purpose at all because that's something that you can easily get from just watching a video online. So that's not the reason. What is the reason? Well, like it's partially the reason because it gives educators or even like industry professionals a reason to educate. But if you can satisfy that through other means, then what's like the primary reason? The one thing that you can do with an event that you can't do any other way And that is to get people to meet each other in person.
