When a manager won't support you, escalate to HR or their boss. If nothing changes, it might be time to leave. Companies aren't loyal to you, so you have to be loyal to yourself.
How would you push back in the situation on a bad manager? Companies are not loyal to you. Business is business. And so it's most important to advocate for yourself. If you're not getting the support from your manager that you think that you need, one, you can escalate that. Talk to HR, talk to your skip level to say, hey, I wanna give some feedback, whatever happens to be. Uh, and then second, consider, is this the right place for me at this point?
