Two people discuss what it takes to get hired for community work. Employers expect you to have already built community before applying. What worked at a small company often fails at scale, where the job gets more strategic and complex.

Because I feel like to get a job in community, you have to do it before you do it. We're all doing community, but we're all doing it differently, which is the crazy thing.
Like, I knew the things that stuck at my old company, but then the scale was really— well, it was tiny. And then now I have this bigger community and bigger brand and things like that. It's like a lot more to think about. And some things that kind of worked for a tiny team may not work very well here.
