Taylor Desseyn explores whether AI is actually eliminating jobs. The speakers argue that while some roles disappear, automation historically creates new ones, often better-paid. AI handles routine work and frees people for strategic tasks.
I think there certainly are jobs that are gonna go away.
AI allows us to do more, but it's not replacing because it still doesn't sound like it's perfect.
I think there certainly are jobs that are gonna go away. A great example is when car factories started to introduce robots into the car factories. Jobs definitely went away, but the jobs got added because people had to program the robots, they had to service the robots, and those jobs paid more than the jobs before. So AI is gonna be a tool. That helps us do some of the more mundane grunt work, hopefully a little bit easier, automate that so that we can end up spending more time on more strategic work, the more difficult work that really does take human discernment.
