The excerpt is a short interview/conversation between two speakers (labeled SPEAKER A and SPEAKER B) in which SPEAKER B describes being laid off in 2023 after using the same resume for ~15 years, receiving no callbacks, and reaching out for help after seeing a new resume format. The topic is resume updating and job-search advice for the tech industry.

Say that one more time for the people listening and watching now and in the future. Say that one more time.
I had been using the same resume for almost 15 years when I was laid off. Same format, just updated it with new roles. It always worked. I would get calls back like crazy. 2023 is when I was laid off right before the holidays. I was applying to new roles and getting nothing. No callbacks, no emails.
Say that, say that, say that one more time for the people listening and watching now and in the future. Say that one more time.
Same resume, no callbacks. I was getting the generic rejection email. Thank you for applying. We're gonna move forward with other candidates. That's when I reached out to you. I had heard you talk about updating resumes. I saw that you had released a new resume format along with brushing up your resume. Asked for help because the industry is changing at an incredibly rapid pace.
