We're gonna have a dope experience.
That's it.
What he said.
What's going on, y'all? Welcome to our crib. MT, MT Torque crib. Come on, come on. So this is, this is what people don't see. That often is that people think we're just out here just running on vibes. We're not. We actually do logistical things. When I say we, not me, it's these fine, amazing team members. So—
We are getting ready for our Talentland Mexico dinner. So we're so excited for all of our friends, our new friends rather, to be joining us at Lago. We're so excited to meet them, to talk all things community, and to help make sure that we're with them throughout the entirety of their job search process. It is 5:13 now.
We're setting up swag to give to our community members that are showing up tonight at dinner. Then we're gonna get ready. Then we're gonna go to dinner, and we're gonna—the vibes are gonna be immaculate. It's gonna be a great time. I should probably get to work before before I get yelled at. So let's do it.
Taylor, aunque le está costando un poquito de trabajo.
I love how she says my name. Hey, say say your name again.
Taylor. Taylor.
Sí.
Muy en español.
Sí, a Taylor le está costando un poquito de español, de trabajo el español, pero lo está haciendo bien. Ya se perdió un poquito, pero vamos a ver qué tal.
What's going on, y'all? We are at Lavo, a fantastic restaurant in Mexico City. Tonight is night one of the Torque community festivities. We actually opened up tonight. Because the waitlist was so big for tomorrow's event that we wanted to make sure we loved on everybody in Mexico City. So first night, loving on our community, loving on the people we've placed.
Since I've worked remote, I haven't had the chance to meet someone else.
And I mean, from the place I work, and now that I have the chance, I feel incredible.
The Torque community is all about supporting each other. You know, you can go into the Discord when you're having a bad day, when you're having a good day, and you know that people are going to be there to cheer you on.
They're going to be there to support you, give you advice.
And, you know, it's just a great place to check in anytime you have a free moment.
It's a community that you can do like friends, working, networking, whatever it is. You can also create family here. And I think it's pretty cool to socialize with other persons.
You know, one thing I said earlier today is sometimes building community is doing things that are unscalable. Writing thank you notes is not scalable, but we did it tonight because our community means a lot to us and we want to let them know that we love them and we appreciate them. So again, thank you for everybody who showed up tonight. We appreciate it. It's been a heck of a first night in Mexico City. Day one, Talentland. Let's do this. What's going on, y'all? We are here day one of Talentland. We got the new swag. We got the new branding. Everything looks great. We're excited. And look at this place. I mean, come on. This is unbelievable.
I got the I got a scholarship for this event. My school practically sponsored the trip over here.
Are you looking to gain a job after this? Oh, I would love to, yes. Okay, great.
I'm not sure if I'm fit yet, you know, for a job, but I would love to.
We're a community-first platform. We help you get jobs. You know, just sign up for our platform. We're able to assist you even with your resumes. We do resume and LinkedIn reviews, and we can help you in that process.
Over everything, I want to learn because I have heard that this event, it's full of very intelligent people. So that's my main objective. I want to learn, meet people, and I'm going to tell you the truth. I have finished my studies like 2 months ago.
Congratulations.
So my main objective is today meet people and learn about good companies because I have heard that this event is one of the most important events in Latin America.
How's everybody doing though? We are a community-first jobs platform that helps find people remote work. For me, when I'm working with Ronsa Digital Power Biker, it allows me to see that community is possible even though we are literally all over the world.
It's been like two years that I knew from Torque, and I got so interested because sometimes it's so difficult to find like a community to. Like stand up, it's global. So that's what got my attention. So that's when I reached out to them. So I found them like 2 or 3 times in the events. And for me, it was like, oh, the vibe here is really nice and everyone is helping. And I think that comes naturally, like to follow those type of communities. I really believe like everyone should join the tour community because there's a lot of sharing like from all the topics. Also, there's a lot of devs, there's a lot of non-technical people, and all the time it's clashing between like all the benefits that you can get, the information, even you can get new friends. Like for example, right now we're in Mexico City and we're meeting people from all over the world. So it's so nice because it changes your mentality. So everything is about sharing and you learn a lot.
We are here, day 2, Talentland Mexico City. We're excited for everything. We're here to learn and teach. We're excited to meet all of you. So please come to the booth and talk to us.
Community is friendship for me.
Community is family.
It's support.
Where you are comfortable.
Community is special.
It brings experiences and people together. You feel close. You're not alone in your process. Torc has brought me closer to community in the sense that I get to attend these in-person events. And see all the hard work we've put into, and how we're really impacting people's lives. And we're not just talking about it because you can make a post on social media, but how are you actually taking action?
Hey, my name is Fernanda. Torque brought me so much closer to the community here in Mexico. Este año fue totalmente diferente el feeling de Tallinnland. Creo que los eventos de Torque y en general la gente que viene a Tallinnland a conocer nuestro booth. Sabe completamente quiénes somos.
This is my first Latin American conference with Torque, and as a member of the Latin American community, some things that don't surprise me is how friendly and talkative everybody is. I I was surprised by how many people came to our booth to have like full-on conversations. That was that was surprising. But every you know, like I said, everybody has just been so sweet and. Friendly. It's been great. It's been great practice.
We are heading to where are we heading again? Prosecco. That is Italian for wine.
It's not Italian like for wine. It's a type of wine.
Okay. Most companies. Think sending an email, sending a newsletter, going to an event and passing out really terrible swag is community. Yeah, we got community. No, right? I think it's how your brand shows up online, right? All the branding is, you know, with us, kind of what we do, you know, with our designer Zara, you know, we're bringing people along with the vlog that we do. Going, going to conferences, getting behind the scenes. You know, it's not all glitz and glamour. Yes, we're in a beautiful spot, but, you know, we're out here lugging in banners and fanny packs. Right. So I think bringing people along for the ride, I think getting them, making them feel part of something is, is kind of the baseline of how to build community. Day 3. Tired. We are tired, but last day, best day. And we're going to the booth for a few hours. Got the cold brew. Packing Roxy up.
All right, bye everyone.
Did you eat at any good places in Mexico City? Like, yeah, we ate at them all, every time. But in Fer we trust. Nobody knows what floor it's on. Can you confirm what floor it's on? This is hilarious. Listen, I'm just trying to get some Mexican food. That's it. I didn't feel like walking 2,000 steps. There's one more down.
There's one more down?
No, there's more down.
Oh, 2 more down.
2 more down.
We only start at 1.
This is our third time walking this way.
Three, three, three.
Hey!
We found one bird.
Yeah. Okay, come here.
Okay, we're going up. Huh?
We've been up. We've been up, we've been down. There's a restaurant on 6. We can park back there. An update is Fur's leading the way now, so. Tori's leading the way.
I feel so compromised.
That was, that was, that was the craziest team building exercise ever.
So anyone in the hall knows this place because apparently it's like a new opening here. So I had to call to another taquería from the same chain and they told me where it is. But yeah. That's why Google Maps doesn't have like the right directions for it. So that's what happened. I'm so sorry. I feel so embarrassed about it. But you know, as Taylor said, it's great team building.
We're already being asked to come back. People are already excited for the next events that we're having. They're excited to sign up for the platform. They're able to see that we are real people. We're not just talking to you behind the screen. We're not just hosting these virtual events. We're actually showing up in person, doing the work, and engaging and speaking to our community because you guys are family.
People need community now more than ever, especially in their careers. And I'm grateful that we are building that here at Braunstad Digital powered by Torc.
