Talking about raises and promotions is not weird.
Yeah, it's not weird to talk about promotions, or it's not weird to talk about raises with your manager as well. I guarantee your manager is also probably thinking about it for themselves too. We have this weird kind of mentality, and especially in the Western world, to like shy away from talking about money. Like, it's necessary to have these conversations. And again, this is where that icky feeling that you have to like overcome that through practice. And that's when you can practice with your manager to say, I'm interested in understanding Understanding. If you don't want to talk like, I want more money and this is how much I want, a great way to start kind of opening the door to this is like, I am curious of what the next level looks like for me. In your opinion, where should I be focusing my efforts on to continue to improve both my skill set and the skill set for the company?
