Taylor Desseyn on why developer relations is really about building community. She walks through creating a Discord community and how technical education and DevRel work together.
My hot take is that DevRel now is community. So in my previous company, I was basically building this community from the ground up. It was a community mostly hanging out on Discord. But then on top of that, I was also doing like developer relations type things. For me, both of them just work so well hand in hand because the educational part, the technical education part, which is a huge part of like DevRel, that needs to flow into the community.
